Van Aert again strongest at Heusden-Zolder
Wout van Aert has won at Heusden-Zolder for the third year in a row. On the fast...
It was a very good week in Denmark for Team Jumbo-Visma! Olav Kooij managed to win two stages and Christophe Laporte hit the double by winning the last stage and the general classification. Wout van Aert sprinted to the second place in Hamburg on Sunday afternoon. Check out the photos from the two races below.
Kooij gave Team Jumbo-Visma a fantastic start in the Tour of Denmark by crossing the line first in the opening stage. The second stage was a time trial in which Laporte managed to get to a good third place. Sprinter Kooij took his second victory on the third day. Laporte's good time trial earlier in the week made for an exciting final stage. The Frenchman was the strongest of the small remaining group and the associated bonus seconds even meant the victory in the general classification for Laporte and Team Jumbo-Visma!
With many top sprinters at the start, the Bemer Cyclassics Hamburg seemed to turn out to be a big bunch sprint, but that was not the case. A small leading group of five riders, including Van Aert, got the chance to sprint for the win. The Belgian rode a strong race, but in the end he had to be content with the second place.
