On Friday 20 May, the women of Team Jumbo-Visma raced Veenendaal-Veenendaal. A day later the men started in this race. A look back in photos.
Karlijn Swinkels led the race for a large part, together with competitor Verhulst. The lead of the two rose to two and a half minutes. At ten kilometers from the finish, the gap between the duo and the peloton was only forty seconds. Swinkels started a final sprint, but was narrowly beaten. She finished second.
The men of Team Jumbo-Visma rode an attacking race. Development Team rider Rick Pluimers was in the breakaway, and Timo Roosen and Owen Geleijn also tried to set up an attack. Unfortunately without result. In the end it came down to a bunch sprint.
Tim van Dijke finished first for the team. He became thirteenth.
