Team Jumbo-Visma is launching a new project together with their trusted partner Visma: The Next Top Mechanic. In a rapidly changing world of top cycling, we need to recognize those who are indispensable to our beloved sport: The mechanics. They are never on the podium with their arms raised to the sky, but are a vital part of cycling.
A program that kicks off with an Audition to generate awareness for the job and to attract new talent to the world of cycling. And which race could be chosen better than Paris - Roubaix, an event where they all strongly rely on their mechanics? During the race, soigneurs of Team Jumbo-Visma will be generating awareness to attract new colleagues to the team. This will be visible on various points along the track and supported by Visma employees to raise even more attention. Look out for signs encouraging people to become a mechanic.
As of April 17th, it is possible for everyone to apply for the Auditions of The Next Top Mechanic. After a first screening round based on experience and resumé, four applicants will be invited to the Team Jumbo-Visma HQ in the Netherlands for the definitive selection, featuring a combination of spectacular challenges. Cycling fans will have the opportunity to follow this unique talent show online via three video episodes.
This Audition will end with the winner signing a one-year contract with Team Jumbo-Visma. This person will get to put their proven skills to work, preparing bicycles, and supporting the likes of Primoz Roglic, Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos, Jonas Vingegaard, Tom Dumoulin, Sepp Kuss, Rohan Dennis, and many more riders.
A dominant factor in this campaign is the support of their trusted partner Visma. They have experience with high-value processes that work behind the scenes, and are vital to running a business. And they know how to run a recruitment campaign from start to finish with all of their knowledge and software.
Richard Plugge, General Manager Team Jumbo-Visma, says: “The whole world is constantly looking at how our riders are performing in front of the cameras. But at Team Jumbo-Visma every staff member delivers specific value to success in a race. That is why we are happy with the support of Visma to run this exciting recruitment campaign in finding a new top mechanic for the team. We value the role of Visma and it emphasizes our true partnership to win together.”
Anne-Grethe Thomle Karlsen, Director of Content & Sponsorship at Visma, is happy to support Team Jumbo-Visma from the core business of Visma: “As a trusted partner on cloud software solutions, we know the value of critical business processes. The metaphor regarding the role of mechanics behind the scenes is spot on and deserves a bigger podium. We are full of energy to help find The Next Top Mechanic for Team Jumbo-Visma and generate awareness and appreciation for the job that mechanics are doing every day.”
